New Kiahuna Sunrise Cafe Opens in Poipu at the Historic Kiahuna Plantation

April 7, 2026 (Po`ipū, Kaua`i, HI) — Kiahuna Sunrise Cafe, a brand-new breakfast, brunch, and coffee destination, is now open at 2253 Poipu Rd, Koloa, HI 96756, located on the historic grounds of Kiahuna Plantation. Open daily from 7 AM to 1 PM, the cafe is designed for relaxed, convenient mornings and brings a casual, welcoming option to the South Shore dining scene for both visitors and locals.

The cafe features lanai seating overlooking a koi pond and lush gardens, creating an easygoing atmosphere well suited for starting the day. The menu centers on fresh, high-quality ingredients and comfort-forward breakfast favorites, including pancakes, breakfast burritos, multiple Eggs Benedict options, sweet and savory crepes, and local classics such as loco moco. Standout dishes include Chicken and Waffles and Chicken Fried Steak.

A full coffee program features beans roasted locally by Kauaʻi Roastery, known for small-batch roasting and a commitment to quality, sustainability, and showcasing the island’s coffee culture. The coffee offering is complemented by pastries from Orly Patisserie, led by local pastry chef Orly Yadao, featuring French-inspired baked goods made with premium ingredients. Coffee, pastries, and select menu items are available for quick takeout.

Kiahuna Sunrise Cafe offers a relaxed, approachable dining experience with free parking and Wi-Fi. The format is intentionally streamlined, making it well suited for easy mornings as well as a quick grab-and-go coffee and pastry.

Set within a restored plantation-era manager’s home, the cafe reflects the long history of Kiahuna Plantation, land that once included Kihahouna Heiau, an important cultural and spiritual site, and later became part of the Koloa region shaped by Hawaiʻi’s first successful sugar plantation in the 19th century. The setting connects present-day dining with the rhythms and heritage of old Kauaʻi.

Owned by Kirk and Paula Coult, the cafe represents their seventh restaurant, building on a portfolio of hospitality concepts in Aspen, Breckenridge, and Salida, Colorado; Whistler; and two locations on Kauaʻi.

“Kauaʻi has a strong sense of place, and Poʻipū felt like the right setting for a breakfast spot that is relaxed, high-quality, and convenient,” said Kirk Coult, co-owner of Kiahuna Sunrise Cafe. “The goal was to create a cafe where great coffee and fresh food fit naturally into an unhurried island morning, whether dining in or heading out for the day.”

With a focus on breakfast, coffee, and comfort food, Kiahuna Sunrise Cafe is a natural fit for guests staying in the Kiahuna and Poʻipū areas seeking a dependable nearby option for morning dining. The cafe has quickly become a go-to addition for those looking for a new breakfast spot on Kauaʻi’s South Shore.
