The County of Kauai’s Department of Parks and Recreation has announced the closure of a small section of the county parking lot adjacent to the Anchor Cove Shopping Center at Nawiliwili, beginning Monday, July 15th, 2025. The closure will remain in effect until further notice.
The affected section of the lot is being reserved to accommodate a State of Hawaii improvements project in the area. According to county officials, the space will be used for equipment and material storage necessary for the state-led construction efforts. The county is encouraging drivers to plan accordingly and seek alternate parking in the area.
The partial closure is hardly newsworthy, but we’ve seen some social media posts stating the entire public parking area at Nawiliwili will be affected, so we’re setting the record straight. Only the small section in red on the map below will be closed during the construction period.
