Against the backdrop of Hanalei Bay’s stunning vistas, surfers of various age groups gathered to showcase their skills on longboards at the Pine Trees Longboard Classic on March 8-10, 2024. Held at Pine Trees Beach, a hallowed stretch of coastline tied to Kauai surf legends, including the late Andy Irons and Bethany Hamilton (who was in attendance), the event encapsulated the essence of Hawaiian surfing culture. The event buzzed with excitement as participants gracefully rode the waves, their maneuvers reflecting both artistry and athleticism. Spectators lined the sandy shores, soaking in the sights and sounds of this iconic competition. With its laid-back atmosphere and stunning natural surroundings, the Pine Trees Longboard Classic embodied the essence of Kauai’s authentic surf scene.
