Location and Access
Part of the allure of Hideaway Beach is its remote, almost secretive location. Tucked beneath the cliffs of Princeville, the beach can only be accessed by a steep, narrow trail that requires caution, especially after rain when the path can become extra slippery. The trail begins just past the Puu Poa condos, with a small parking area available nearby. While the descent may be challenging for some, those who make the trek are rewarded with a pristine beach experience largely free from crowds.
Natural Beauty
The beauty of Hideaway Beach is undeniable. The beach is relatively small, with golden sands that give way to clear, turquoise waters. The surrounding cliffs provide a dramatic backdrop, while the offshore reef creates a protected area that’s ideal for snorkeling. The calm, shallow waters teem with marine life, making it a great spot to observe colorful fish and even the occasional sea turtle.
