Bangkok Happy Bowl and Sushi Bar in Poipu Returns to its Roots

Bangkok Happy Bowl and Sushi Bar is pleased to announce its exciting lineup of nightly Hawaiian music and hula dance performances throughout March 2025, offering a dynamic blend of culture, cuisine, and live entertainment. As part of its commitment to providing an immersive dining experience, Bangkok Happy Bowl remains Kauai’s only Asian restaurant with complimentary live performances, making it a must-visit destination for locals and visitors alike.

With a proud history on the Garden Isle, Bangkok Happy Bowl is embracing the future while returning to its roots in Poipu Shopping Village. During the first six years of its decade-long presence on Kauai, the restaurant flourished in its south side location, featuring a themed dining room, sushi lanai, Thai lanai, and nightly entertainment. During the pandemic, the addition of the Garden Lanai provided a safe outdoor dining option. Now, as life returns to a healthier state, Bangkok Happy Bowl is moving forward with its preferred pre-pandemic setting, enhancing the dining and entertainment atmosphere in Poipu Shopping Village.

Live performances will take place five nights a week from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, with shows paused on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Guests can enjoy an unforgettable evening featuring a variety of musical styles, Hawaiian rhythms, and captivating hula dance performances:

Monday: Kyle La Benz and Nikole Keahiolalo harmonize traditional Hawaiian melodies with modern country and pop hits, enhanced by the graceful artistry of a hula dancer.

Tuesday: The dynamic duo Falling Down Romance, featuring Diane Rubio on ukulele, electric cello, and vocals, alongside Dan Cruces on percussion, delights with an extraordinary mix of island rhythms, soulful ballads, and genre-spanning favorites.

Friday: Falling Down Romance returns with their signature island style, offering an unforgettable performance that spans a wide range of genres, from pop to rock and everything in between.

Saturday: Kyle La Benz and Nikole Keahiolalo light up the stage again, seamlessly weaving Hawaiian music with country and pop, elevated by the skillful movements of a talented hula dancer.

Sunday: Bonnie Vannoy on guitar and vocals, alongside Benson Broyles on ukulele, takes guests on a nostalgic journey with beloved Island Style hits from the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s.

“Our team is excited to return to our roots in Poipu Shopping Village, bringing back the intimate and energetic dining atmosphere of the pre-pandemic era,” said owner Kirk Coult. “With award-winning dining and an exceptional lineup of island entertainers, Bangkok Happy Bowl continues to be a vibrant hub for great food, music, and good times.”

The transition from the Garden Lanai to the sushi lanai marks a new chapter for Bangkok Happy Bowl. The final Garden Lanai show will take place on Sunday, February 23, featuring Bonnie Vannoy (vocals, guitar) and Bennie Broyles (ukulele, backing vocals) from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The first sushi lanai performance will follow on Monday, February 24, starring Hawaiian music and hula with Kyle (vocals, guitar) and Nicole (hula) from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
