There are currently two ATV tour operators on Kauai, and while you can’t go wrong with either company, the information below can help you to make an informed decision about the best Kauai ATV tour for you and your party.

The two Kauai ATV tours operators are located on the southern half of the island. (On the North Shore, the Princeville Ranch ATV tours are no longer available.) The tour providers are Kauai ATV (operating out of Koloa Town) and Kipu Ranch Adventures (operating out of Lihue). Both Kauai ATV tour operators offer three hour tours on Kauai’s gorgeous southern landscape. The tours are guided by instructors and you will be riding with up to eight other vehicles. All equipment, including goggles and helmets, are provided with the cost of the tours. Rental clothing is available at an additional cost.

Kipu Ranch

The Kipu Ranch Adventures tours are located on the 3,000-acre Kipu Ranch near Lihue and Nawiliwili.   The expansive ranch is a distinct section (Huleia Valley) of southeastern Kauai that is bordered on three sides by the Haupu Mountain Range. Huleia River/Stream is the major waterway of this area. Together with the lush tropical landscape, the mountains and the river combine for a spectacular area to be explored by ATV. Kipu Ranch’s Triple Trail Expedition tour includes famous movie filming locations from Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones and the Descendants, plus a refreshing waterfall swim. The Ultimate Mountain Off-Road Adventure includes an exclusive view of Kipu Kai.

Kauai ATV

Convenient to Poipu, select Kauai ATV for a drive through the Wilcox Tunnel.

Kauai ATV is located outside of Koloa Town near the abandoned Old Koloa Sugar Mill. Tours with Kauai ATV navigate the scenic back roads in the vicinity of the sugar mill, Mahaulepu Beach and the Waita Reservoir and includes an exclusive drive through the Wilcox Tunnel. Famous movie sites visited on the tour include Jurassic Park and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw. Near the end of the tour, participants have the chance to do catch-and-release fishing with a bamboo pole.

The Wilcox Tunnel, a historic sugar cane haul tunnel once used by plantation workers, is a big draw for the Kauai ATV tour. The tunnel was built just after World War 2 and is almost a half a mile long and 20 by 20 feet. Located on private land, a Kauai ATV tour is basically the only way to visit this interesting tunnel.
