A beloved fixture in the surf town of Hanalei on Kauai since 1983, Wishing Well Shave Ice dishes some of the island’s best organic and traditional shave ice from an old truck near the town’s entrance. Recently, the delightful Wishing Well Coffee & Tea cafe has been added to the back of the property, along with several outdoor sitting areas. And fittingly, a clothing store that captures the location’s essence – Slow Yourself Down – adds to the laid-back vibe of this relaxed setting. In a nutshell, this easygoing destination is one of the best places on Kauai to unwind and enjoy a taste of paradise.

A Rainbow of Flavors
The heart of Wishing Well Shave Ice is undoubtedly the vibrant spectrum of flavors they offer. From classic favorites like strawberry, bubble gum and blue raspberry to unique island-inspired choices such as lychee and guava, you can explore a rainbow of options. Beyond the panorama of vividly flavored syrups that cascade over the shaved ice, a variety of toppings add a delightful texture and flavor burst to each creation. Flavorful toppings such as snow cap (sweet condensed milk), honey drizzle, fresh papaya, fresh banana and coconut flakes are popular options.
Besides the delightful shave ice, Wishing Well offers an assortment of refreshing beverages including organic smoothies with locally-sourced fruit, aromatic cold brew coffee, hot chocolate, mocha, macadamia nut milk and more.
Acai bowls are a refreshing and healthy option at Wishing Well. The Keiki Bowl has all the basics with granola, banana, coconut flakes and honey while The Works Bowl adds peanut butter, papaya, goji berries, hemp and chia seeds for an extra boost.
