The trail to Papa’a Bay Beach starts near the North Aliomanu Beach parking area and proceeds down through light vegetation to the bay, then across some shoreline rocks to get to the sand. The trail is not too strenuous, but it can be slippery, so make sure to wear appropriate shoes. The hike takes around five minutes to get from the parking area to the bay, then about another 5 minutes across the rocks.
Papaa Bay Beach is one of the least-mentioned beaches on Kauai, but also one of the most beautiful. The beach was notably featured in the movie Six Days, Seven Nights starring Harrison Ford and Anne Heche.
